who we are
Anna Trautman is the founder and creative director of Verdant Spaces, a San Francisco–based botanical art and design studio dedicated to creating immersive living environments that reconnect people with nature. Blending botanical art, plant design, living installations, and experiential curation, her work transforms homes, hospitality spaces, workplaces, galleries, and events into places of beauty, curiosity, and connection.
Inspired by the quiet rhythms of the natural world, Anna approaches plants as living collaborators rather than decorative objects. Her work explores the relationship between nature, form, and impermanence through sculptural botanical compositions, thoughtfully designed plant environments, and site-specific installations that continue to evolve over time.
Whether creating a living sculpture, designing a botanical landscape, curating an immersive installation, or leading hands-on workshops, Anna's practice is rooted in the belief that nature has the power to transform how we experience a space—and how we experience ourselves within it. Through Verdant Spaces, she creates opportunities for people to slow down, engage their senses, and cultivate a lasting relationship with the living world.
